The Island Taste Trail celebrates the unique reasons that drive visitors and locals to support local eateries on Vancouver Island. The 2025 Fall campaign takes place from October 29 to November 16.
The foodie focus is on great tasting pairings. Depending on your business model, you can offer:
- a dish paired with a Vancouver Island beverage (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options) OR
- food pairings (like soup and sandwich) that features at least one Vancouver Island ingredient or product.
Our goal is to encourage diners to support local small and medium sized restaurants. By adding the element of featuring either local ingredients and local drinks, we will amplify our impact by including many mouthwatering Vancouver Island producers!
All eateries from Parksville Qualicum Beach and Comox Valley (restaurants, cafés, coffee shops, bakeries, wineries, breweries and food trucks) are welcome to participate.
If you are a Vancouver Island producer with a tasting room (or on-location retail sales) AND your products are featured in restaurants in the Central Island, reach out to us directly using the form below so we can get you and your restaurant partners involved.

This promotion is a great way to be part of a broad, multi-community event that will be widely promoted on social media and on local radio.

What’s new this year?
The goal of the campaign is to bring in extra business and/or increase average guest cheques between Canadian and American Thanksgivings. With the extra challenges this year, we’re hoping to hone in on the local message to encourage diners to come out and support locally owned and operated businesses.
What we need from you to participate:
- Your description of your pairing. This should be 2 dishes that work well together or a pairing of food with a local beverage. (Local coffee/tea/kombucha/wine/beer/cider/
cocktail/mocktail – your choice) - Feature price and meal time that the offer is available (Breakfast, Lunch/Brunch or Dinner).
- Your logo and Facebook and Instagram handles.
- Your business hours.
- A $50 gift certificate for promotional purposes.
Each business is required to have one feature pairing but you are welcome to feature more.
Some pairings suggestions include:
- Vancouver Island Oysters with a glass of Unsworth Vineyard Sparkling.
- Cheese and Charcuterie board for 2 with 2 glasses of 40 Knots White Seas.
- Bowl of house made Ramen paired with Gyoza.
- A burger paired with a White Sails Bastion Blonde Ale or Cultured Kombucha.
- Soup and sandwich combo.
- A house made fall croissant with Denman Island Tea.
- BC Salmon Benny with French Press Coffee.
- An apple pie with Averill Creek Cowichan Black wine.
You can offer a breakfast, lunch/brunch or dinner depending on your business model. We’re happy to work with you to develop a feature that will work for you!
