Labelled “Canada’s Provence” by the late, distinguished foodie, James Barber, Unsworth’s micro-climate is a very special corner of the world with a fertile trifecta of warm growing conditions, rich soil, and abundant rolling hills.
The passion of the Turyk family combined with Cowichan’s celebrated food and wine culture, and good old-fashioned hard work to bring delicious wines that tell the story of place.
The family bring an artisan philosophy to the winemaking and are small production by design. After the harvest, they use leading edge equipment and roll-up-their-sleeves and diligently tend to every stage of the winemaking process using signature techniques that showcase the very best of the fruit we grow.
Visit the tasting room to sample the wines – reservations are required for groups of 8 or more.
Island Taste Trail Feature
Wine and Cheese Tasting
Enjoy a mini Vancouver Island cheese plate with a five-wine tasting flight. Features island producers such as Little Qualicum Cheeseworks, Natural Pastures, That’s My Jam, Jenny Marie Crackers and the Whole Beast, all perfectly paired with a set of exceptional wines, handcrafted onsite. Can be made vegetarian and/or gluten-free upon request.

Tasting Experience
The tasting room experience allows you to try a Signature Tasting ($12 per guest) or Collector Tasting ($20 per guest). Whether you book one of a tasting experiences, or simply purchase a bottle and enjoy at a picnic table or on the outdoor terrace, the Unsworth experience allows guests to immerse themselves in the alluring beauty of the Cowichan Valley.
